Dr. Anthony Ciarallo is a medical graduate of McGill University (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and a Master of Science in Human Genetics. He is currently specializing in Nuclear Medicine. His graduate research at the Shriners Hospital for Children (McGill University) aimed at elucidating the signaling pathways involved in the regulation of embryonic endochondral bone development. The goal of the research was to identify potential treatments for congenital skeletal dysplasias such as achondroplasia. He was also involved in clinical research at the Royal Victoria Hospital (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) that focused on characterizing the effect of bisphosphonates on the microarchitecture of osteoporotic bone. Currently, Dr. Ciarallo is researching a method in which to quantify the changes in lung parenchyma as a consequence of radiotherapy treatments to the thorax in lung cancer patients.
