Default Symptom control (palliation)

Symptom control (palliation)

In all cancer patients, symptom control is of utmost importance regardless of stage or prognosis. Often, pain is the primary symptom that patients wish to alleviate. Many of the therapies listed above can lead to symptom relief, of which may include pain. In end stage disease, symptom palliation may be the only treatment to offer. In such cases, all efforts are concentrated on providing comfort care which aim to make the final days, weeks, or even months as pleasant as possible for the patient.
